This is one of the rarer pieces you will find and it is lucky it is in such grand original condition.  The walnut frame has burled placards, incised carvings and turnings that will make it work nicely with Victorian, Eastlake, Moorish or Renaissance Revival styles.  The Roman style base is a stronger adaptation of the traditional style.  There are some chips off the feet moldings and an old crack on one of the arm faces-shown- but it is a fairly solid frame.  The fabric is a peach mohair button and tufted on both the seat and the back.
