Victorian Mahogany Banquet Table (inventory # CC-239) A graceful and versatile dining table that starts out as a generous 54" x 60" size closed and expands to take as many as 8 skirted 14" leaves that take this table out to over 14 feet long. The top has a gently swelled serpentine end and rounds the corner with carvings that frame the wood on the skirt. There is what we call a "double top" where the edge is undercut with a molding that flows into the actual surface board making this appear to be a top that is 1.5" thick. Another molded bead trims the bottom of the skirt. The base of the table picks up the carved motif of the corners and makes it the center piece of each end. The double stretcher between the two corner legs (also known as a "bride's board") adds quite a bit of support to this table style. Acanthus leaves accent the molded faces of the legs and repeat this treatment in the double center leg. This table came with only one original leaf. We made the remaining seven to fill out the stretchers and added skirts to match. There is no veneer on this table- it's all solid genuine mahogany. No apologies. This table will seat 16 people very comfortably. Size ..... 31" Tall x 54"
Wide x 60" Long and extends up to 14' 4"
