Mahogany Square China
(inventory # FF-152)

Here is another example of a fairly good original finish that we were able to clean up a bit to make very presentable.  This classic Empire Revival style mahogany china features a full mirror back, original wood shelves with double plate grooves, , a unique door stop on each door that prevents knocking into the Ionic Capitals when you open the doors. The left door has a double latch to securely fasten this door and the original brass key locks the right hand door to it.  Nice molding surrounds the glass on the door and crotch grain mahogany is book matched along the center seam.  Projected 3/4 round columns have a classic Ionic Capital and taper down to an impressive carved pawfoot, complete with wavecrest, curls and carved moldings.  Dental moldings are stacked with other deep moldings to finish off the top.  This china closet is fairly deep inside (17") and should allow for larger trays and platters.  The shelves have a variety of spacing to accommodate both short and tall pieces. The square chinas always hold a lot, but this one is more commodious than most!
