This deeply embossed thistle pattern has become part of the ruffled border on this Bride's Basket which migrates from a soft white in the center to a deeper pink on the edges in a Peachblow style.  The glass is cased in white on the bottom side.  The interior of the basket is hand painted with stylized flowers and dotted accents in white, blue and gold.  The Basket rests solidly in this silverplated elaborate base that has an entwining handle of floral vines.  A very elegant and richly detailed example of the art glass form in this era.  Very little loss to the painted details.
