Victorian Crotch Grain Mahogany Commode base is a very large
piece that could be used as a sideboard, a sink base, or simply as a dresser
base. The arched picture frame molding on the doors frames some very
lovely crotch grain mahogany. The drawers are framed with a small
bead, also and have hand turned wood knobs that thread into the drawer
face with wooden threaded dowels. Inside the case is a single shelf
across the middle. The marble and backsplash are original but have
had some hard use. We have had the marble professionally polished
and the pieces glued together rather than rely on the old lead filled screw
holes.
